First Grade Weekly Homework:
Return my homework folder every Friday!
- Read at least 15 minutes per day and fill out my weekly reading log (print below)
*Start with the books in my book baggie! - Practice my reading level sight words
- Practice my math facts and take my home quiz
*I take my math fact assessment every other Friday! - Complete my weekly math sheet

Homework Policy:
•Homework will be sent home on Monday and due the following Friday.
•There is no weekend or holiday homework although, reading is always recommended.
•District policy and guidelines include no more than 30 minutes of nightly homework in first grade including the 15 minutes of independent reading.
•Please stop your child if the homework is taking longer than 30 minutes as homework is not meant to be stressful, take longer than 30 minutes or be exceedingly difficult.
•No student will ever be penalized for not completing the homework.
•Homework is meant to reinforce what was learned in class and parents are not expected to re-teach concepts if their child does not understand.
•If your child does not understand the homework, please send me an e-mail and/or write a note and I will review the concepts with your child during school.
